Smithers District Chamber of Commerce Hires New Temporary Executive Director

August 21, 2020

“On behalf of The Smithers District Chamber of Commerce, we’re very excited to welcome Jill to the challenging and rewarding position of Executive Director/Manager. Jill will continue to advance our Chamber members voice in government through our Chamber’s recent tireless advocacy efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe Jill will continue to elevate the Chamber network, advance our strategic goals and highlight key issues and challenges facing our business community in the Bulkley valley,” says Smithers District Chamber Manager Sheena Miller.

Jill’s experience as Executive Director of the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce will perfectly situate her to continue to tackle Chamber files such as developing and presenting Bulkley Valley based policies to government. Also, we believe Jill has the knowledge, passion, and dedication to continue to engage Economic Development files and policy recommendations that offer real solutions to the very real current challenging business concerns. At the end of the day, Jill is exactly the person who will support our Chamber mandate to be a business leader expanding opportunities for business, strengthening our local economy, and driving deeper consultations with government and local stakeholders.

“We look forward to working collaboratively with Jill in the year ahead on numerous files for the betterment of our Bulkley Valley business community.” Says Greg Wacholtz, Chamber of Commerce President.
