Smithers District Chamber of Commerce

Looking ahead in 2020

January 7, 2020

As we continue in our quest to support and advocate on behalf of business, entrepreneurs, and community, it’s time to look ahead to 2020. It’s a time for reflection and planning for improvement and change. We celebrate the end of many things and the beginning of others.

We reflect on the many highlights that brought success for the Chamber in 2019, including: signature events, advocacy priorities, operational advances, and changes in management. Still, we look forward to continuing this growth and delivering on an advocacy program that promotes competitiveness, efficiency and growth in our economy.

Over the course of the year, we want to work with you to plan some innovative new projects. We will streamline Chamber operations to focus on a number of key initiatives and to ensure that SMITHERS remains a unique and very attractive place to do business in the province of BC. We look forward to working for you and advancing our role as the voice and connection point of business in the Bulkley Valley.

We hope that the year ahead brings you good tidings, continuing prosperity and new business adventures! Pop into the Chamber to say hello. As always, we welcome your ideas, feedback and suggestions!

I think the future of Smithers’ business community is bright. There’s a new generation of people starting out and taking over old businesses in the community, supplying new ideas and breathing life into this town. The people here are friendly and support each other, but I think that the best thing about our town is the diversity of people here.
