Smithers District Chamber of Commerce

Temporary Change of Chamber Hours & Closure of Smithers Visitor Centre

March 19, 2020

As of Friday, March 20, the Smithers Visitor Centre will be closed to help flatten the curve of the COVID-19 virus. Despite taking all precautions to keep our centre open, we feel temporarily closing is the best decision to protect the public and ourselves.

As a precautionary measure, we will also be closing the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce's door and moving the chamber hours to 'by appointment only'. We will best serve the business community and public over the phone and online. This measure is recommended and in line with the chamber's and visitors centre's across the province as they scale services and close.

Please note we have created a consolidated community directory of closures, announcements and business hour changes. Let us know if your business hours have changed or you have an announcement to include. Share this link to help spread the word and keep our business community informed.

I think the future of Smithers’ business community is bright. There’s a new generation of people starting out and taking over old businesses in the community, supplying new ideas and breathing life into this town. The people here are friendly and support each other, but I think that the best thing about our town is the diversity of people here.
