We’re proud to share that February 9–13, 2026 has been officially proclaimed Chamber of Commerce Week across British Columbia.

Chambers and Boards of Trade play a vital role in supporting businesses, advocating for smart policy, and strengthening local economies. This proclamation recognizes the often unseen work Chambers do every day, work that acts as business infrastructure for our communities.

Nearly 90% of Chamber impact happens behind the scenes: advocacy with decision-makers, workforce development partnerships, training and readiness programs, business-to-business connections, and community events that build confidence and long-term economic momentum. There are no ribbon cuttings for this work, but when policies improve, training exists locally, employers and job seekers align, and businesses have a strong, united voice, the impact is real.

At the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce, we’re proud to champion our members: local businesses, entrepreneurs, non-profits and community groups. We’re dedicated to support the conditions for our business community to thrive, today and for the long term.

Join us in celebrating #ChamberWeekBC by supporting our Chamber member businesses (check out our Biz directory- https://smitherschamber.com/business-directory/) and recognizing the value of a strong, connected business community.
