Sharon Hartwell is the MLA for Bulkley Valley-Stikine and the Official Opposition Critic for Rural Communities and Rural Development. She was first elected in 2024.

Sharon was a business owner before running for the Village Council in Telkwa, where she served a term and a half. She then ran for the position of Mayor, where she served for 12 years. She also served as a director of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

Sharon is deeply rooted in the Bulkley Valley, where she was born and where she raised her two sons, who have decided to remain to raise their families.
