Bulkley Valley Museum
Explore the natural and human history of Smithers and the surrounding valley at the Bulkley Valley Museum! Located in the historic Central Park Building on Witsuwit’en territory in Smithers, the Museum features engaging and informative temporary and permanent displays on local history and culture. Permanent/ongoing exhibits include Driftwood Canyon fossils, Witsuwit’en (Wet’suwet’en) history through the ‘Alhk’ikh Ts’ëdilh (Walking Together): Shared Histories Exhibition, and the the mystery of the American B-36 bomber that crashed in the mountains near Hazelton. Kids can enjoy our scavenger hunt activity. The Museum is fully accessible, has ample on-site parking for RVs, and a gender-neutral accessible washroom.
